Instagram has rolled out an exciting update that’s set to transform the way users discover content on the platform. Say goodbye to the traditional “Top Posts” feed when tapping on a hashtag because now, users are seamlessly directed to the broader search results related to that hashtag.
Previously, tapping on a hashtag would lead users to a curated selection of top posts. However, with this new update, users will now be greeted with the full spectrum of search results, such as what you’d find in the Explore section.
When you tap on a hashtag like “#makeup,” instead of seeing just the top posts, you’ll now have access to a comprehensive array of results, including accounts, audio, places, and even Reels. This shift aims to enhance profile discovery and encourage users to explore a variety of content types beyond the usual top posts.
While this update may seem subtle, it’s a logical progression toward improving user experience. By providing access to diverse elements within a hashtag search, Instagram hopes to foster more extensive search behaviours and facilitate deeper engagement with different content formats.
In addition, as Reels continue to gain momentum, this update enables users to seamlessly transition to the dedicated Reels display for any topic of interest, further enriching the user experience and opening up new avenues for content exploration.
